AQUEDUCT SERVICES

NETWORK MAPPING AND LEAKS RESEARCH

A new innovative service for municipal administrations and private individuals proposed by our company is undoubtedly represented by the mapping, cleaning and leak detection of the aqueduct network.
With low costs and, above all, with really fast intervention times, it is possible to map the exact route of the aqueduct pipelines and, more importantly, to check for leaks. The advantages attributable to these interventions can be easily understood by having the possibility of carrying out targeted interventions for the ordinary and extraordinary maintenance of the pipelines and it is also possible to avoid unnecessary and dangerous dispersions of water in the surrounding environment in order to optimize all municipal services.

NETWORK MAPPING

The tracing of the network is performed by means of a two-frequency digital transmitter which, placed in contact with an uncovered part of the pipeline to be detected (gate, hydrant, pipe, etc.), sends an electrical signal to the analogue receiver in the possession of the technician in charge which allows the '' identification of the pipe and the depth of installation. This method is also applicable for all underground services such as electric cables, gas pipelines, etc.
The traces found are highlighted directly on the ground and, upon request, can be detected and inserted in the plans in the possession of the client.

SEARCH FOR LOSSES

The search for possible leaks is usually carried out using a computerized correlator capable of signaling possible escape points with excellent precision over large distances, the exact location of the leaks is then established by geophone. These operations, where possible, are to be carried out in hours in which there are no external acoustic and physical disturbances, preferably at night.
If the external disturbances are constant and such as to require a further check, the pipeline can be examined with an ultrasonic flow meter which detects the flow rate of the pipes in several points by means of acoustic pulses; in the event of discordant values, it will be possible to locate any network leaks.

The treatment can be carried out on even heavily obstructed pipes, which have a diameter between 40 mm and 1000 mm.
There are practically no limits to the length of the pipeline to be treated, unlike what occurs for other cleaning methods. Heavily encrusted pipes, even kilometers long, can be restored to the original internal section values without any need to resort to intermediate sectioning.
This system is able to overcome curves r = 1,5 D, any height difference, accessories such as valves, inspection doors, etc.

CLEANING

If the pipes are simply clogged, it is possible to clean them by using a hydromechanical procedure that allows the radical removal of scales, encrustations and sand that may be inside the pipes, reducing their flow rate.

Having an access point to the aqueduct pipeline, it is possible to carry out a television inspection of the pipeline in operation in order to verify its structural reliability and correct functioning.
Our inspection allows us to detect:

  • Size and characteristics of the pipeline

  • State of the tubes and axial disruptions

  • Losses, injuries or corrosion in the pipeline that cause subsidence and breakage of the roadway

  • Identification of connections with other pipelines and with private individuals

  • Sediments and encrustations that can obstruct the duct
